Beauty product store accused of negligence

Recently, a premises liability case has arisen involving a store. The store in question is a beauty product store in Port Arthur, Texas. The case involves a slip-and-fall accident that a female customer reportedly suffered at the store on June 2, 2011.

The woman alleges that, that day, a puddle of water was present on a section of the store's floor. According to the woman, the puddle developed when a bucket that had been placed to catch water that was leaking from an air conditioning unit in the store overflowed.

The woman claims that the puddle was a dangerous condition and that the store negligently failed to take proper steps to protect customers from this dangerous condition.

Reportedly, the woman slipped on this puddle as she was walking in the store. According to the woman, slipping on the puddle caused her to fall and suffer injuries.

A lawsuit has been brought by the woman in a court in Texas in connection to these allegations. Named as defendants in this lawsuit are the store and its manager. Damages are being sought in this lawsuit.

As the allegations in this case show, failure by a store to take proper steps to protect its customers from dangerous conditions can result in accidents occurring. Thus, one hopes that all stores make sure to act properly in regards to the safety of their premises.

Injuries sustained in accidents at stores can be very impactful on a person. For example, such injuries can sometimes result in individuals suffering impairments.

When a person is hurt in an accident caused by store negligence, one thing they will sometimes do is pursue a personal injury claim. Such claims are one of the options a victim of negligence has for seeking relief for harms suffered due to the negligence they were subjected to.
