Construction worker hurt in saw accident saved by police officer

One fairly common sight on construction sites are saws. Saws are one of the many tools that are commonly used in construction work. Sadly, workplace accidents sometimes occur involving saws. Such accidents can cause a great deal of harm to workers.

Recently, a saw accident occurred in New Jersey which resulted in a construction worker suffering an injury that may have taken his life had it not been for the actions of a police officer.

The accident happened last Wednesday at a construction site on Garden State Parkway. That afternoon, a 31-year-old man was working at the site. The man was using a chop saw. An accident then occurred involving the chop saw and it caused a large wound to the man's chest.

A police officer who responded to the accident used a QuickClot pad on the man's wound. It is believed that the man may have died had the officer not done this.

The man was eventually brought to a hospital. As of last Saturday, he was in fair condition.

As this incident shows, construction accidents can be very harmful. Injuries suffered in such accidents can lead to a worker needing significant medical treatment. Such injuries can also cause a worker to miss work for a period of time.

Workers' compensation can be of great help to injured workers. If a person has suffered a workplace injury, they should consider meeting with a workers' compensation attorney. A workers' compensation attorney can help a person determine if they are eligible for worker's compensation benefits and can help a person through the steps of workers' compensation claims.
