2 killed, 1 injured in pedestrian accident in New Jersey

Pedestrians are some of the most vulnerable people on the roads. They have nothing to protect them against the impact of a vehicle, and even at low speeds, the impact can cause serious injuries like broken bones, lacerations and crushing injuries.

When a pedestrian is hit, it's absolutely important that he or she receives the care he or she needs immediately. The driver who hit the pedestrian should stay at the scene and call for help; witnesses should also stand by and wait for police.

In this case, many things went wrong. The wreck in Bridgewater, New Jersey, left two people dead after being hit by a car. The vehicle collided with them before continuing through the parking lot of the Bridgewater Diner.

According to the story, the accident took place at around 3:15 a.m., on Route 22 when a 2004 Toyota Sienna hit a woman and man walking in the left lane. The 41-year-old driver brought the vehicle to a stop in a grassy area. It wasn't clear if the driver was speeding or intoxicated at the time of the crash, but the diner's owner has reported that accidents take place there around once a month because of the dangerous roadway near the diner.

Both pedestrians were killed in the accident, and the driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The victims, a 23-year-old woman and 29-year-old man, were both from East Brunswick.

Crashes like this aren't as simple as some; the liability involved can vary. If you're hit by a car, it's important to learn as much as you can about the crash, so you can file a claim for compensation.
