New Jersey couple killed in a motorcycle accident

Talking about recent motorcycle accidents in a legal blog serves many good purposes for the public. Discussion helps to expand awareness about the dangers other motorists often present to motorcyclists. It also sparks important questions about how and why these accidents occur. Talking about the issues can sometimes even shine a light on possible solutions that could help reduce motorcycle accidents or at least provide victims of these crashes with legal remedies.

Recently, a New Jersey couple from Port Norris lost their lives when an SUV collided with their. The couple was in their 50s and likely and experienced enough to bike safely and within the rules of the road. According to reports, the SUV's driver was a 76-year-old man who was traveling in the opposite direction. For an unnamed reason, he crossed the centerline, colliding with the motorcycle.

Another motorcycle was traveling beside the victims, but its 46-year-old operator managed to avoid the crash and escape with only minor injuries. Unfortunately, the couple on the other motorcycle was not so lucky. The two were thrown from their motorcycle because of the collision and were pronounced dead at Cape Regional Medical Center. Reports indicate that the deceased couple had been together since their teens and were rarely apart for more than a day at most.

Police officials of Lower Township, where the motorcycle accident occurred, and currently investigating the accident and have not yet issued any summons. The authorities are actively searching for any witnesses who can provide information about the accident.

Although it is an uncomfortable topic for many, discussing motorcycle accidents either with each other or with a personal injury attorney remains one of the best ways to raise awareness. In turn, raising awareness is one of the most powerful tools in the fight to reduce and prevent motorcycle accidents in New Jersey.
