Pedestrian with right-of-way hit and injured in New Jersey

Pedestrian accidents happen for a number of reasons, but when it's due to a driver not paying attention to the road in front of him, that's a cause for concern. This crash is a good example of how it's important for drivers to maintain a visual of pedestrians looking to cross the road. This driver didn't, and that led to a pedestrian accident.

A recent crash in New Jersey sent on pedestrian to the hospital after being struck by a car. Interestingly, police have been investigating this crash and determined that the pedestrian had the right of way at the time of the accident. He was reportedly in a crosswalk when he was struck and injured. Despite this, the driver has had no charges placed against him.

The news reported that the Altima had been passing a bus when the pedestrian was struck. Initially, the bus had stopped to allow the male pedestrian to cross the road, according to the police. The New Jersey Transit bus had been stopped in the right lane when it was overtaken by the car on its left-hand side.

The accident took place at around 4:30 in the afternoon. Fortunately, the pedestrian in this case was able to receive treatment and then was released on the same day. While the investigation is ongoing, no charges have been placed or have been mentioned.

As a pedestrian, you have the right to cross the street when you're in crosswalks. This situation just goes to show that you could be injured even if you're doing everything right. When that happens, you have every right to seek compensation for your injuries. If they were the result of dangerous or negligent driving, you shouldn't have to pay for that negligence.
