Alcohol a factor in recent fatal car accident

It is common knowledge that driving and alcohol don't mix. Very stringent laws exist in the state of New Jersey and across the country to help alleviate the problem of drunk driving. Despite these laws, there are drivers that choose to willingly break the law and operate a vehicle while intoxicated. Those that get behind the wheel while intoxicated not only endanger themselves, but they endanger the lives of all those around them. When alcohol is involved, the odds for a car accident increase dramatically.

One certainty in an uncertain world is that accidents are going to happen. Some accidents are impossible to anticipate and thus totally unavoidable. However, some accidents can be prevented. In the state of New Jersey and across the country, property and business owners have a legal responsibility to keep their properties safe for all visitors. Taking even the most basic precautions such as maintaining property and removing hazards can go a long way in preventing accidents to patrons and visitors.

Pedestrian critically injured after being struck by a vehicle

For many New Jersey residents, walking is not only an economical source of transportation, but also very healthy and a great way to stay in shape. These days, pedestrians face many dangers that are lurking on and around crowded roadways. Drivers are subjected to an abundance of distractions that can take focus off of the road. Distracted and/or impaired drivers endanger the lives of all those around them, especially pedestrians. According to recent statistics, a pedestrian dies as a result of being struck by a vehicle every 1.6 hours.

Driving is a task that requires constant focus and attention. However, when alcohol is introduced, even very basic tasks become difficult, and driving becomes extremely dangerous. According to statistics, two out of three people will be involved in a drunk driving accident in their lifetime. A recent car accident involving an alleged drunk driver left a woman and two children with injuries.
