A dog bite injury could do permanent damage

Throughout history, dogs have been known as man's best friend. Most dogs are harmless, friendly animals that love attention. Most dog owners in New Jersey are responsible and treat their animals with love and respect. However, dogs that are trained and seem perfectly harmless can attack and issue painful bites without warning. A dog bite injury can have permanent ramifications and dog owners can be held accountable when their dog attacks unprovoked.

Recently in another state, a pit bull got inside an elementary school and bit seven children. According to reports, the dog entered into the playground area while the children were playing. Reports indicate that the school staff was quick to respond and rushed the children back inside the school.

However, police officers say that some of the children became frightened and tried to run. Allegedly, the animal attacked and bit some of the children. Reports say that a teacher was eventually able to corner the dog and obtained the owner's information from the dog's collar. The owner apparently arrived, picked the dog up and left scene before officers arrived. Seven children suffered bite injuries.

Man's best friend is sometimes not so friendly. Any dog attack can result in permanent physical injuries as well as psychological and emotional distress. New Jersey citizens that suffer a dog bite injury may be able to take legal action against the party or parties believed to be responsible. A successful lawsuit could result in much-needed compensation as well as a sense of justice.
